A kind word is just the beginning
What's your reaction when you get a favourable
comment from a client following a job well
done? Do
you feign embarrassment and simply say "Gee,
thanks"? If so, you have missed three great
opportunities. Try this response, instead,
and
boost
your income immediately.
- Upsell -- Ask them if there are any
other jobs
crying out for a
quote or if there is any other help you can
offer. There
is no
better time to talk about the next project
than when
they have spoken highly about the current
project.
- Referrals -- Ask them if there
is anyone
else they
know who
could benefit from the service or products
you have
provided. Dropping a familiar name
is a quick and easy introduction to just
about anyone.
- Future sales -- Ask them to provide
you with a
written testimonial.
Then use it in your advertising, on your
website, in
your letters--anywhere it will show others that
people have used your products or services
and have
been satisfied.
